by ROS ~ September 6th, 2011. Filed under: Event.

December 9, 2011, 7:30 P.M., Third Presbyterian Church, 4 Meigs Street, Rochester

Brass Bells and Candlelight,

with the Empire State Lyric Theatre Children’s Chorus, Darla Bair, Director; the Church of the Transfiguration Bell Choir, Pamela McInerney, Director; the ROS Festival Brass and Special Guest, Julia Figueras
Traditional Christmas music with a modern touch fills the resplendent sanctuary of Third Presbyterian Church. The ROS Festival Brass and the ROS’s chamber ensemble Resonanz set the pace in the thrilling “Adam lay ybounden,” by Rochester’s own Carson Cooman. Sweet children’s voices, handbells, seasonal readings by WXXI’s Julia Figueras, dance-inspired and brilliant selections for choir and brass arranged by Eric Townell, the stirring “Christmas Cantata” of Daniel Pinkham and a jazzy setting of “We Three Kings” round out this inspiring, fun and heart-warming concert. Then, raise your own voices with the ROS in a suite of favorite carols to bring in the season. Order tickets online at www.ROSsings.org, by phone at (585) 473-2234 or by e-mailing your request to ROSsings@atnmail.com.
