Greece Choral Society at St Charles Borromeo Church, May 2014

The Greece Choral Society was organized in 1970 by its founding Director, Ralph Zecchino, who retired after the 2014 season.  Approximately 80 singers rehearse on Monday evenings from 7:15-9:15 PM, September through May, at Greece Athena High School, 800 Long Pond Road.  The Choral Society is a founding member of the Greater Rochester Choral Consortium (GRCC) and one of the mainstays of the Greece Performing Arts Society (GPAS).

We welcomed our current Director, Dr. Rollo Fisher, in September, 2014.  He is the Director of Choral and Vocal Activities at Monroe Community College, leading many vocal groups on campus.

In 1990 they combined with the Rochester Oratorio Society and again in 1994 with the Buffalo Choral Arts Society to perform on European concert tours.  The Greece Choral Society has also collaborated with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Greece Symphony, Geneseo Symphony and Festival Chorus, and the Buffalo Youth Philharmonic.  The choir regularly performs at the Town of Greece Supervisor’s summer concert series and at the Ontario Beach “Wegman’s Concerts by the Shore” Series.  They also perform annual Christmas and Spring Concerts at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Greece.

Interested in joining us?  Do you already have choral experience?  Auditions are held the first three rehearsals in September and January for anyone wishing to become a new member.  For questions, contact Rollo Fisher at rollo.fisher@gmail.com.
