  • Notes: Classical Idol VII National Vocal Competition, Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 6:00 PM, Temple B’rith Kodesh, 2131 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY Rochester’s Classical Idol is a juried vocal competition with audience participation. Classical Idol seeks the best emerging vocal talent in the classical music genre. The Rochester Oratorio Society invites Classical Idol singers to perform opera, oratorio, art song or musical theater before a panel of judges and a live audience. In its 6th year, 2012, the competition welcomed 48 entrants hailing from several different countries. Cash prizes are awarded to the top four finalists and to an audience-choice favorite. The first-prize winner also earns the opportunity for solo performance in concert with the Rochester Oratorio Society.
