Musica Spei presents a series of choral works reflecting the spiritual and mournful moments of the Lenten season. The audience will experience the soaring melodies and rich texture of the Lamentations by Robert White as well contemplative pieces by Sheppard and Agazzari.
This annual performance on Good Friday features Musica Spei and Oliver Brett, Music Director and Organist at St. Anne Church. The audience will hear a continuous flow of choral works interspersed with solo organ pieces that reflect the somber nature of the day. Featured works include the entire Lamentations by Robert White, “In Manus Tuas” by John Sheppard, and “Stabat Mater” by Agazzari. The performance concludes with a “Tenebrae” by Ammon in which the entire sanctuary is enveloped in darkness. This concert is a free will offering, suggested donation $10. All proceeds benefit the ministries at St. Anne Church.
