Pegasus Early Music continues our 22nd season of early music concerts with Sweet Harmony, featuring the gorgeous voices of two sopranos, Laura Heimes and Andréa Walker, combined with the virtuosic violins of Boel Gidholm and Jimmy Drancsak, in an unusual program of duets from the baroque period in Europe and the American colonial period.

"For a long time I've wanted to hear the exquisite voices of Laurie and Andréa singing together," says Pegasus Artistic Director Deborah Fox. “The art of the duet in the baroque period provides a great platform for musical conversation, fireworks, and expression. This program will be a treasury of different styles and composers". The program presents a variety of music from different countries, including Italian music by Claudio Monteverdi and Barbara Strozzi, English music by Henry Purcell, music by German composers Heinrich Schütz and George Frideric Handel, and American music by Billings, Swan, and Maine native Supply Belcher, as well as some fun fiddle tunes. "This is a great way for our audiences to experience different musical languages -- maybe they will find a favorite!" says Fox.
